Pre-requisites for SQL server 2012:
- .NET 3.5 sp1
- .NET 4.0 (SQL server installs this during feature installation steps )
- Windows Power shell 2.0
- Minimum 6GB disk space
- Minimum 1GB RAM, in case of Express edition it need 512MB
Download SQL Server 2012 from Microsoft website.
Following are the step by step guide with screenshot to install SQL server 2012:
Double click on Setup.exe this will pop up SQL server Installation Centerprompt.
On SQL Server Installation Center wizard,
Click on Installation option available to left panel of SQL server Installation Center.
Then click on New SQL Server Stand-alone-installation or add features to an existing installation.

On Setup Support Rules wizard,
Discovery operation has been done on your system by system configuration checker like below, You can view total details by clicking show details.
